I wasn't sure this was a good buy, as I can find suitcases for a fraction of this price at TJMaxx. However, I was sold on the style and really wanted to believe it was a higher quality, in spite of a few of the reviews I read on here. Well I'm here to tell you....this suitcase can take a beating! I dare anyone to drop their $99 bags from TJMaxx down an airport escalator and see what happens. This was a LOOONNNG escalator at Logan. My son was standing behind me, going down, so higher up. Right as we began our descent he somehow lost control of his bag. Mine was packed pretty heavy, so I had no safe choice when his hit mine other than to let it go. I watched it bounce down, and bounce it did, hitting one corner after another, with it's telescopic handle fully extended, helpless. It felt like slo-mo, as it took forever for it to land at the bottom. When I finally caught up to it at the bottom I found no dents, no cracks, handle fully intact, barely a scratch. I still can't believe it. I'm sold.
Update: If the person who wrote the review titled "Terrible" just below mine would like to ship theirs to me instead of throwing it away, that'd be great! ;-)

I'm going to start by saying that this is certainly not an unbiased reviewed. By that I mean, I STAN DELSEY. I haven't had a product from them that I didn't like. I love the Delsey Chatelet collection and the only thing preventing me from collecting more pieces are the cost and the fact that I really don't need more luggage.
Anyway, on to the review. I got the medium suitcase to match my 2-wheel underseater carry-on for a week-long work trip. I used the ziploc roll up travel bags and 3 small packing cubes and I was able to pack 2 dress, 1 pair of fleece lined leather leggings, 2 pairs of jeans, 2 pairs of boots, 2 sweaters, 3 long sleeve shirts, a toiletry bag, drawstring makeup bag (see this item: DeerHope Quick-Pull Drawstring Waterproof Organizer), and 5 pairs of socks and undergarments. Most of these items fit on one side of the suitcase and I had room for souvenirs on the way back.
If you have the underseater bag, or the Delsey Chatelet backpack, either of the items will slide right onto the bar for easy stacking and rolling through the airport. The lock is easy to set and comes with instructions. It did receive a couple of minor scratches on this first trip but I haven't seen any major dings or cracks. One of my travel companions, who used a different brand hardside luggage, actually had her suitcase cracked with a large hole in it. It isn't particularly heavy but I also wouldn't consider this a lightweight bag. It is a bit heavier than my soft suitcase of similar dimensions so that's something to consider.
When it comes down to style and practicality, I would recommend. Its a gorgeous suitcase and if you use packing cubes or vacuum seal bags, you can really fit a lot into it.

My fiancé and I first saw this luggage in a department store when we were doing our wedding registry. She instantly fell in love with the luggage and I was impressed with how well constructed and durable every bag was—despite the designer style. Plus, the luggage has a lot of cool modern features. Also, I thought the bags were very well priced considering that they felt like elite luggage such as Tumi or LV. We eventually kept walking looking at other things, and knowing that she had a birthday coming up, and our wedding and honeymoon towards the end of the year, I decided that it would be a perfect gift as we also have to international trips planned for 2023. I am mediately was able to pull up the luggage for an even better price on Amazon and decided to pull the trigger. Everything put together in the photo was around $700, but I still saved around $100 not doing it at that department store. Plus, the bags are so well-made and seem like they will last a long time that the price seems like it could’ve been much higher.

I asked if they could send me the parts as any service center near me said it would cost me to have repaired. The company sent an entire set of wheels for the suitcase, all 4. I replaced the broken one myself. The lining of the suitcase unzips to give access to the wheels.

First Impressions (not used for travel as of yet):

Quality: All the zippers (interior & exterior), interior material, and all the seams were perfect. The exterior is in pristine condition.
Wheels: I took the luggage over to the airport and took it for a spin. The wheels had great maneuverability. The wheel brake also worked well.
Carry-on Size: This does fit in the sizer for American Airlines which is 22x14x9 (including wheels). I am thrilled about that.
Other points: With the hard exterior taking something fragile or a laptop will be well protected. Also, the handle was easy to extend and retract.
I Will update once I've actually used it, hopefully, I'll be adding a 5th star!!
UPDATE: I have used this carry-on now 3 times now. I was able to clothing for 1 - week with 4 pairs of shoes!! I absolutely love it.
Quality/Durability: This has held up extremely well. One occasion I had to check the bag because a connecting flight was a smaller plane. I was very nervous about damage occurring to the suitcase, but it held up extremely well. Damage free. The wheels are also very durable. No sticking...just smooth rolling. HANDLE: This has held up well. I do put other bags on top and use the handle to keep them upright. Specifically, the Delsey bag. Having said that it doesn't leave a ton of holding space at the top of the handle.
All-in-all this is a great purchase.

After 25 years of steady use I had to finally say goodbye to my trusty teal Carlton. That model's no longer in production and I was initially wary of the 4 wheel spinners; I'd had a few cheaper ones where the wheels broke after one or two trips. The Delsey is definitely not a cheaper model but with the amount of flying I do it made sense to pay for quality. I'm very glad that I did. Functionally it feels more like a steamer trunk - in the best possible way. The numerous zipped pockets and divisions between the two sides make it amazingly easy to organize everything you're carrying without worrying about things banging around. Having a handle on the top and side make it really easy to lift this into the trunk of your car or onto the bed in your hotel room. The attention to detail is obvious. The attached handles are softly padded, faux leather. The retractable one reached high enough and the mechanism seems well constructed. I understand and like the TSA approved locks but I trust the suitcase more than the TSA so I left it unlocked as I've grown used to doing for the past 15 years. As expected when I arrived home I had the "we inspected your bag" card but that was the only sign they'd accessed it. Often the contents are very jumbled up after inspection. I truly appreciated the ease with which the wheels lock and smiled to myself as, on the airport shuttle, so many bags rolled back and forth into the aisle while mine remained put.
So far it's only gone from LA to Rio, changing planes in Miami. I'm optimistic that is will hold up well for a long time.
November 2019 UPDATE: I still love this suitcase but I don't think I'll be buying it again- even though I got -and love- the carry on model. Twice I have arrived and found the suitcase cracked when I took it off the baggage carousel. Each time the airline (shout out to American) did the right thing, accepted responsibility and replaced it. So now I have owned this suitcase three times. I fear I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get an aluminum model. Yes, they dent but somehow dents add character, cracked plastic just doesn't inspire confidence.

I got this for a month long trip and when it arrived it seemed huge. However because it’s hard sided there is no forgiveness nor is there an expansion side.
I packed it and then realized it wasn’t as roomy as I thought so ended up taking things out. The shape of case doesn’t allow for things to lie flat. I also had issues with one of the compartment zippers. Think twice before ordering this.
I’ll update once I’ve travelled with it. If it had arrived sooner and I had more time I would have sent it back.
Traveling with this isn’t great. It can be hard to push especially if you have a bag on top. Any slight bump and it stops. I would return this if I could. Not impressed.

I bought two of the Delsey carry on bags, which were not cheap. While we have no complaint with the style, space, ease of use, etc. , one of the cases had interior damage we did not notice until our trip a few weeks ago. One of the plastic clips to the 'ribbon's you clasp over your clothes was broken. The piece was in the clasp broken, which is why we didn't notice it at the time of purchase. The bag had obviously been returned with the clip broken and possibly even reported with the return? I recall that the inside materials were not in a plastic sleeve like the other bag, but I didn't think anything of it because I had checked that the wheels, locks and zippers were fine. Where is the quality control when receiving a returned product? Disappointed.

I bought 4 pieces of Delsey luggage, wanting nice bags I could rely on. But now I recommend you go a cheap set of fabric-based bags you can maybe afford to dispose of after a year or two. Because...
A large crack developed in one Delsey case after ONE flight. It looks like someone bashed it on the corner of a cement block.
Delsey says it isn't responsible for damage by the airlines, so no support or service is available.
The Airlines say they aren't responsible for damage from "normal" handling.
They just point fingers at each other and stick me with an expensive waste of space I can't trust to travel in one piece anymore.
After one round trip, all four of our Delsey bags have at lease some damage: heavy scuffing, torn leather, paint marks, etc. Okay, so a bit of wear is expected. But after just a couple trips (minus the cracked case), the remaining bags went from a "luxury traveler" look to "war-zone survivor." It's largely the bag handlers' fault, but I think poor structural design and insufficient materials factor in as well. So this was my $2,000 lesson that I just can't trust hard-case luggage.
My soft luggage bags lasted way longer. They got dirty quickly, and I dared not carry anything remotely delicate, and for some reason the handlers loved breaking off the zipper-pulls, but I just cut off the remaining pulls and carried a set of clip-on pulls with me and it worked out.

The suitcase is beautiful and I get lots of compliments.... However, get it in brown. The white shows every little bump and scratch from all the other black suitcases it travels with. The textured outside makes it very difficult to clean unless you scrub it with a toothbrush to get in all the nooks and crannies. The inside is beautiful (same in the brown), the lock is perfect and the brake system is great! There is also a tracking system IF you register your piece both with Kelsey and then with another firm they outsourced the tracking to in Germany. I've not been able to get this second website to let me in to track the piece. I bought a 24 and a 21 inch case, and am keeping the 24 (as I just used it) but am returning the 21".

The quality seems real good. I went over every square inch on these and construction wise I feel this is very good quality however;
I ordered the 28”, 24” and 21”. There is a 26” as well but good thing I didn’t order that one because the 24” barely fits inside the 28”. However the 21” does not fit inside the 24”. The 24” does fit in the 28” if you leave it unzipped so it can pocket into the lid of the 28”. In other words these pieces were not designed to fit into each other. Thats a real space issue for me. These take up a lot of square footage especially in a small hotel room.
Next is warranty (see attached). The warranty does not cover accidents, does not cover damage by airline or hotel handlers, does not cover repairs even by Delsey authorized repair centers. You tell me what is left. This is airline luggage and hotel luggage. They will cover defects but only if you pay to ship it to them.
I won’t buy this again I’m afraid. It would of been nice to see this info up front. No fit and bad warranty gets bad rating from me.

I chose this brand as I had purchased from this luggage company over 25 years ago without any issues and still intact.
After only 2 uses in less than 2 years, the decorative trim began to fall off. Upon looking from inside, you can see it was very sloppily constructed. I contacted customer service for warranty support. It took numerous emails to get a response. Then I am told that I have to take it only to a specific luggage repair business ( many miles out of area). When I called the recommended business they told me they would have inspect it first to evaluate whether covered by warranty ( even though I had already sent photos to Delsey) and that it would take 5 weeks or longer.

I saw this in store in carry on size and they were unable to order it in time for a trip I have coming up and I needed the 28. The suitcase itself is absolutely gorgeous but the quality feels different than carry on size I looked at in store. It seems like a much less durable material and feels cheap in comparison. Additionally my suitcase arrived USED! The inside is disheveled, wheels are dirty, covered in pet hair, smells like it's been sitting in a musty closet. I haven't decided if I want to risk returning it yet since the one I ordered is "in stock soon". I will update my review if I take it on my trip but for now I am extremely disappointed.

I got the white and it is already ruined by the airport baggage claim belts. It really doesn’t hold much with only having enoroom in the zipper compartment. Looks very nice all together but wish I would have gotten the black or sent it back. I did t know it wouldn’t hold much before I traveled with it. When you put shoes in it almost all of the space it taken up.

I was so excited to receive this 24 inch suitcase and I also purchased two smaller carry-ons. On only the second time I flew with it, the leather straps were damaged when going through American Airlines. The straps are stapled on and they doesn’t appear to be heavy duty staples. Damage was done to both straps with one coming almost completely off I am now traveling with tape on my beautiful suitcase.

Very disappointed! The inside looked used. I had to clip the clips and zip the inside zippers. Once o did I noticed stains, see pics! Too expensive to have a used piece of luggage with unknown stains!!!! Yuck!!!

I bought this suitcase last year but did not use it till a month ago. It was a total disaster! The pull-out handle will not function properly. I struggle with trying to pull it out or push it back. It caused the airline workers issues too, several people tried to push the handle down so it could be checked. I know it has been a year since the purchase but the item is defective I did not know till I had to travel with it. I hope DELSEY will want to protect the quality and image of their product and offer me a replacement.

Disappointed when I bought this suitcase as a “like new” Amazon stated it would come in a different box. Much to my surprise the item was used and clearly has been on several trips. There were zero accessories with it. Scuffs and scrapes all over, and popcorn kernels in side. A huge dent in the suit case and dirt handles and wheels! I was absolutely disgusted with this and the fact that it could be labeled as like new when clearly it had been used! I ordered a new one in hopes that comes new!

This is my second return and order of this beautiful and expensive luggage but unfortunately they don't come with a key to unlock the luggage once you get it. I have asked customer service of help on both orders of this luggage and all i get is to return it and feel free to reorder it! but the same thing is happening and I haven't been able to resolve this issue with Amazon. I don't know why they wont reach out to the company, since this seems to be a problem!! very disappointed

The bag is already falling apart and I did not travel very much due to the Covid still being prevalent in the first year. The bag scratches easily and a lot of the detail is falling off. I never check this bag, only carry on. I called Dempsey but they were of no help. Good looking bag, but not worth the money. I am going back to Tumi--expensive but worth the money because those bags last forever.

I purchased this Delsey Hard + 4 wheel spinner for my daughter. Less than 6 months later the corner was missing. I wrote the company and included the picture. I received a response that was basically a run around. They told me I could ship it to a service center, but that if it was determined to be abuse the warranty was not honored. So, why spend $50 - $75 to ship it and only be told it wasn't their fault. You would think they could look at the picture and tell it wasn't impact resistant!
It was purchased because it was advertised as Hard +, impact resistant, and a quality piece of luggage.
Purchase at your own risk.
Update: Wrote them a second time, including another photograph of the luggage with an entire corner missing and their response was to contact the airline. Why name it “Hard+” and indicate it is impact resistant if it breaks and tears apart that quickly and easily.
Since it was paid for with AMEX card, hopefully they will cover the damage under their warranty program!

I purchased both the 28" and the Carry-On in Summer of 2017. When the Luggage arrived, I was not thrilled with the quality or the exterior look, but the features of the Luggage were impressive. For example, the locking wheels were excellent; unfortunately, the locking mechanism broke on the second trip on the Carry-On. Both pieces had beautiful interiors with suiting and function zipper compartments. After six trips, the stitching began to rip on both bags near the exterior zippers. One particularly annoying feature, the bags spines running down the back, which make it difficult to lay items down in a flat manner; I had to fill the dips with socks and underwear. The worst part about this Luggage is that after four International Trips the 28" Piece's shell split down the side. I did not notice it immediately; therefore, I do not know what airline to contact about the damage. Both bags are damaged, the 28" Checkin is now worthless for travel, but at least it is suitable for storage.
This Luggage is of poor Quality. Save your money and purchase better quality. I will never buy another Polycarbonate Shell Suitcase.
