I've only used 2 of the 3 pieces so far. On the largest suitcase, the design for holding the contents of either side of the suitcase in place once packed & closed does not keep the contents secure. I didn't have as much of an issue with the carry-on size because there are fewer contents on either side to shift.

Great case, looks amazing. But my wife got a cheaper brand before a trip we took. The very first flight and mine was damaged by bad date handlers, huge dent by one of the wheels similar to damage others have posted pictures. My wife’s bag, no issues. I understand that these types of luggage are going to be beat on. I don’t mind scratches, but the dent is bad and I have to think there is a design issue that would lead to this many similar reviews. Just my two cents

Not sure about the hard sided suitcase. They are a beautiful color blue and extremely reasonably priced even after doing research on multiple Samsonite suitcases. They are a little awkward trying to fold the two halfs together. You sort of need two people LOL. Used for automobile traveling and found them to be very easily polled or pushed. We will find out in the near future how they are able to handle the airports employees tossing suitcases around. Fingers crossed that they don’t get damage.

The product is a Samsonite - so high quality, looks great and rolls great.

We brought the mid-size piece on its first trip last week.
The center divider is promoted as a "good thing" but it practice - i think it is a fail
"NEW FOUR POCKET REVERSIBLE panel that maximizes organization without extra bulk or weight"
With the suitcase packed, the center divider can be clipped into one side or the other. The plastic part of the clips do not easily slide into the nylon loops. If you leave them unclipped, be prepared to have difficulty in closing the suitcase with the contents intact.
This will not really be a problem if you use packing cubes - but just be aware if you do not.

Every other feature of this product i love and if the center divider thing doesn't bother you - then i am sure you will give this item a 5-star overall.

Hint to Samsonite - Please re-design the fastener clips

Go to their website, fill a repair form, get an RMA, drive 2 h to their store and then they will charge me $20 shipping to repair. It is not allow to ship from my place.... Come on!!
For a 5 inch crack will you do all this? We are not taking about a small company here but really smart, this way they make sure that their crap doesn't come back...
I expected within 3 months of my purchase that if it break, I'll simply get a new one delivered and throw away this broken one. How will they repair that? Will it look new? I have serious dough..

Flimsy shell, would likely dent under other luggage. Main complaint however is the wheels are cheap and do not roll on two. In the airport or hotel or sidewalk, you're not going to be rolling on 4 wheels the majority of the time. This makes this product impractical and inconvenient to move with.

We got to use these once before the lock broke. Upon arriving at our destination we tried to unpack and couldn't because the lock that holds the 2 zippers would not open. Yes we had the code. No it didn't work.
The codes were tried before we left and they worked fine. Maintenance at the hotel was able to pry the zipper handles off the zippers which allowed us to open the bag. Just without the zipper handles which are still nice and secure in the lock...
Other than that, they were great.

Just purchased, and used for a 6 day trip to SC. For Samsonite this is very cheaply made. Large dent after one flight. Handle is cheaply made. Wheels don’t want to roll on carpet. Biggest reason I will be returning this is due to the cheap interior straps to secure your clothes in place. They are very cheap made, and will not keep your items secure. As soon as you open the lid, all the items fall out. One side has straps, the other side has straps and a flap that attaches in place. Even with those 2 items used together, it will still not hold your items in the luggage when you open it . They fall out around the flap. Very disappointed in Samsonite. I would not encourage anyone to purchase this item.

Buy Samsonite, everyone said. Don't buy cheap luggage! So I bought Samsonite. And as soon as I opened the suitcase, I discovered one of the elastic straps, which was supposed to be *stitched* into the corner of the lining, instead was glued--and the glue had come unstuck. The strap is therefore useless.

So much for buying Samsonite with their sterling reputation!

I do not want to return something this large, and so I will keep it. I simply won't be able to use the straps on that side. But I am extremely annoyed and disappointed. Seriously, Samsonite? A 10-year guarantee and the suitcase at first opening proves to be of questionable quality?

Maybe I'll buy the cheap stuff next time. At least you know things may go wrong.

I had planned to take this luggage on my current trip, but I had to leave it behind because I'm debating whether to send it back. I am so disappointed in the weight! I checked meticulously on the Samsonite website and on the specs here trying to find the balance of durable and lightweight luggage I could afford. Because I travel for work and carry a lot, every pound counts for me. It may not seem like much that the medium case weighs half a pound more than the specs, but it matters to me. Likewise, the largest case weighs over a pound more. I could not find any removable pieces that might account for this, so I can only guess they either fudged the numbers or weighed it without the center divider (a permanently attached part of the suitcase.

I have left my rating of the other specs high as it looks like a good enough suitcase otherwise. Accurate communication is important though, and I'm really frustrated with Samsonite for dropping the ball.

Update August 23, 2022: I am utterly disappointed with this luggage. Besides the things I originally mentioned, I have noticed an array of loose strings, and one of the zippers gave out in under two months. I had originally thought the weight specs might imply this was counterfeit, but I gave Samsonite customer support an opportunity to respond to that question, and I assume the fact that they didn't respond means they know of the discrepancy. I also stopped by a Samsonite store with my questions and the very helpful representative did confide in me that corporate is known to fudge the specs. I have also recently been trying to get wheels of one of my older suitcases replaced under warranty, and I will have to either mail it in or drop it off at a store for shipping (still $20) hours away just to have it assessed. Bottom line, if you're expecting superior quality or service by purchasing this Samsonite set, you probably want to move on. Credit where credit is due though, I do like the wheels on the Winfield 3 a lot. They roll really well compared to my other cases.

I've been a longtime user of the previous model, Samsonite Winfield 2, and always liked it. So, I thought I'd try the Samsonite Winfield 3. Big mistake. Samsonite has somehow managed to ruin everything that was good about the Winfield 2. The Winfield 3 feels cheap, flimsy, and is poorly designed. The wheels are the worst part -- they often sieze up, snack, drag, and otherwise don't turn well. The interior has been substantially cheapened by using a partial divider that barely holds on by two small hooks. No more interior zippered divider... and this is a huge downgrade. All of your stuff will fall out when you open the case. The extendable handle is also terrible and doesn't lock well into the fully extended postion. Overall this suitcase is a huge disappointment and, given the high pricetag, also a huge waste of money. If you can still find the Winfield 2, get that model.

I love that for the colors, shape and lightweight. I also have a travel a lot and use renown names last ones I had were Delaney and I ran them to the ground. I picked Samsonite as it is a brand of trust, I filled it to 19 kg (a large 28” luggage) and as soon as I carried it it cracked!!! Where is is when I went to Samsonite customer service, they said that I have to pay $20 shipping and that is if it qualifies for me Cuz. This is an absolute travesty! I really hope that somebody picks up this review and provides me with support. I bought this in July 2022 and this is my first trip with it.

I paid $600 for this set of luggage and on my first trip, the zipper broke on one of my bags at the airport. We hadn't even left yet and I was scrambling to find a way to keep my luggage closed. I was walking around the airport carrying my luggage in my arms to keep my things from falling out. According to the Samsonite repair/replace process, I'm responsible for paying to have the bag shipped to them, which I think is ridiculous, I didn't even have the set for a month, and I'm supposed to pay to have it repaired? I'm very disappointed because this set was highly rated. I contacted Samsonite and they have not gotten back in touch with me. I'm returning the set to Amazon for a complete refund and will never purchase another Samsonite product again.

I give this one-star because I only used it once and it is now broken permanently. For the price I paid, I expected a better product. especially from Samsonite. If I could give it 0 stars, I would because I am really annoyed. At first glance, I thought liked the overall luggage piece. Seemed sturdy, easy to roll, adequate space. But very FIRST time used for a flight on United Airlines yesterday, the TSA inspectors inadvertently broke off the expansion zipper piece while they had selected my luggage for inspection. I purposely did NOT lock the suitcase for this reason. I also did NOT use the expansion zipper at all because the suitcase was NOT overloaded. There was no no need to open the expansion part. They apparently pulled and seriously yanked the wrong zipper and broke it off. Of course they assume no responsibility for this. But if this zipper is THAT flimsy that it would break off on the first time used. I question the overall product quality. The suitcase now looks and acts like an "musical accordion on wheels". It is useless to me. $120+ money shot in the butt. I want to know if this company will stand by their product and replace it. Figured Samsonite would do that. But I cannot get hold of any human being to discuss customer service with. Amazon: Do you have any suggestions. I am sick of these rip-off products. And I am appalled that a long-time product like Samsonite puts out such a substandard piece. Amazon: Please advise. Otherwise I would not recommend this product to anyone.

took the large one to europe and this is how it arrived(see pic), far from the toughness implied. got to travel around with duct tape all over it to hold it together. then one of the wheels crapped out on me too. inside sucks too, there are 2 lame clips to hold the divider to one side, rather than a zipper. the clips suck and stuff still falls out around the divider. remember those old commercials with the gorilla throwin the samsonite luggage around n it didnt do anything? ... yea well this would have shattered into peices. total crap

I needed a new bag to check for a 17 day trip to Italy and decided to give Samsonite a try. The rubber on the bag's wheels literally disintegrated on the first day of the trip leaving me with a 50 pound piece of luggage to drag or carry because it would not roll. An absolute nightmare as I traversed sidewalks, streets, train stations, docks, and airports in 100 degree heat! I should have been able to easily roll the bag along but could not and had to spend extra money for taxis I did not need except that I could not easily transport a bag that claimed it would be easy to roll.

As for Amazon -- all I can get is an offer to replace it. Why would I want an other bag like this? It is garbage. Shame on Amazon for selling such rubbish.

If I could give this bag 0 stars I would. I just got to my hotel after my first use of this bag, and somehow the cheap lock got damaged while the airport/airline was handling it. One of the number wheels was pushed in so it could no longer be turned. Tried turning with a pen and even with the code the locks wouldn’t open as the lock is clearly damaged. A lock on a check-in size suitcase is expected to last many years and many trips. This one lasted one day and now I have to figure out how to get my clothing out, on the first day of what is supposed to be a great vacation. Horrible, horrible quality.

I purchased this 1 year and 1 month ago. Used it 4 times and it broke. I've been trying to contact Samsonite to see if they'll replace it. I'm finding it impossible to get anyone to answer my questions. Terrible.

Used middle suitcase once and sent the whole set back. Very poor design where when filling one side it does have a separator to keep contents in place but it does not completely close with like with a zipper. It only hooks the compartment separator close with about a two inch gap around the edges of the side it’s covering. So when you go to close it articles fall out of the edges of the closed compartment. My daughter has one with a zipped compartment side which completely makes sense. My bad for not thinking of that. Such a poor design I did not want to settle with luggage that was annoying.
