I have the Prioe hard sided non-zipper SAMSONITES which Have gotten ridiculously expensive now at 400 plus.
Pick this up for $188 and if you’re careful handling the zippers, making sure it’s packed tight by using airbags, you should get decent use/ value with this .

I'll be honest: I was worried to buy this luggage. I travel a lot, and frequently internationally, and I was concerned that it was *too big* in terms of dimensions and it would be rejected by the check-in agent at some airport someplace, leaving me stuck with a giant pile of belongings and nothing I could use to transport them.

Knock on wood: that has NOT happened. Though the dimensions are a little funky in terms of whether it exceeds the generally accepted international luggage volume/capacity, I have not had any issues/problems checking this bag as luggage on a flight.

Pros:
*The hard shell keeps things well protected and reduces the likelihood of theft.
*The built-in lock is easy to use and also makes it much less likely my things will be stolen.
*The bag expands to large capacity, though truthfully I haven't tried to travel with it fully expanded.
*The handle is easy to pull-out/use and the four wheels are easy to push, pull, or glide along this bag. Bonus for easy navigating on rough terrain (cobblestone, bricks, etc.).
*Large capacity, large capacity, large capacity!
*The orange color is delightfully obnoxious. No one accidentally takes this bag. Also, hard to lose it and very easy to see it on the luggage belt.

Cons:
*It (like all luggage of this type) opens in the middle, meaning if you want to get something out of the bag, you will need to unzip it fully and have the space to rest the other half of the bag. Hard to fault this particular bag for this flaw because it affects all bags of this type, but it is a flaw.
*The above also makes it hard to use this frequently while you're staying someplace. In other words, I normally "live out of my suitcase" as opposed to putting items in drawers, closets, etc. when I travel. Hard to do with this bag. You'll want to take everything out to easily access it.
*The interior of this bag does have a mesh netting that can be used/zipped up, but it is basically one giant cavernous space. The net result is that when you open the bag (and see above re: challenges with opening the bag!) your items are all over the place.

Overall a good purchase, but well worth it to consider using packing cubes with this bag and make sure you understand it can be hard to open/use unless you have plenty of space to do so.

This is a good suitcase. Very durable I’ve been using it constantly over the past 5 months and with the way I’ve dropped it and how the airlines treat it it’s held up extremely well. It’s my first spinner suitcase and i don’t know how I went this long without one. It rolls very smoothly even though the wheels looks small and flimsy. I can push it wit( ease without having to raise the handle. But I’m only 5’5” so that works. It stores a lot and comes with an expander adding space to the bag. It also has the TSA lock though I haven’t used it.

Two negatives: the handle as other reviewers have said is a bit flimsy as in when my bag weights 45+ pounds I always feel like using the handle to get it ,owing is going to snap the handle off or cause it to break. It’s the primary reason I just push it with the handle down. Other issue is the side handle is on the same side/half of the suitcase as the top handle. This screws with the center of gravity and makes the bag difficult to maneuver when it’s fully loaded or you’ve expanded it to full size. As I’ve seen most of samsonites luggage has the handles on the same side of the suitcase which is unfortunate.

I would recommend. It was cheap, as someone who’s had multiple bags demolished by delta over the past 12 months (none were hardside) this was well worth the investment and it has kept my things dry when my bags have been moved out in the rain at airports with bad weather.

Very nice piece of luggage, but certainly could have better wheels when rolling through the airport. I bought this for my husband and I bought a set at Dillard’s for myself that rolled like a cloud. He rolled mine and his this last trip and he could not believe the difference in the feel of each one.
I am not saying it isn’t a good wheel because it is still a great wheel. Just compared to the other set it could’ve maneuvered better.
The inside has a nice zipper mesh area that is a great design. It holds you clothes in place when opening the luggage. Very light weight and modern purr design.

I was going to give this a 4.5 star review, but then on trip #3, the zipper broke, Luckily I was able to make it work in one direction but the second zipper going the opposite direction would no longer do anything.

I also don't LOVE the fact that the expansion zipper expands the left side of the suitcase (left when open and looking at both halves) This may not seem like a big deal to some people, but if you need to expand the zipper to close the bag, you most likely need the opposite side of the bag to be expandable, not the side that zips closed to keep things inside when the bag is opened. I really can't think of a better way to describe this. but if you buy something on your way home and need to throw it in the bag, you are probably not going to make it fit inside the left side with the protected mesh zipper side. It is most likely going under the crisscross zippered side. and if it wont close, you just loosed the expansion zipper.

Sorry, I have no idea what you call that side of the suitcase, but this is a big deal for me as I travel for work 3-4 time a month.

So we were so excited about our new luggage. When we started packing we realized that the straps and netting are VERY necessary in luggage that opens in the middle. When you open or close the suitcases all of your items are moving with it. So all your items need to be very secure so they don’t go flying when you open or close the suitcase. So we are a week into a month long trip and the stitching on the netting is starting to undo and unravel. Pictures are included. It is a problem since we have 6 destinations and will be in and out of the bags and the inside is already starting to fall apart.
As far as lightweight and maneuverability so far so good. Will update at the end of the trip.

I purchased this carry on to replace my Samsonite of the same model from 3 or 4 years ago. I am a frequent traveler (over 90 flights per year) and need something sturdy. The previous Samsonite is superior to the new model. This model has different handles, the top handle feels cheap, like it won't stand up to the constant grab to hoist it up and down from the overhead bin. The telescoping handle feels cheaper, it's visibly thinner, shakes back and forth and doesn't have any kind of soft material to grip when maneuvering the bag as the previous. The inner half of the suitcase behind a zipper is just that, a divider, no pocket on the divider. Not a deal breaker just a difference. I was hopeful the skate wheels would be better than the previous model double wheels. Upon packing loading up the bag and pushing it through the house I could already feel some kind of vibrating wobble from the wheels. I have a work bag that I slip over the telescoping handle as my personal item, it can get heavy with a laptop, tablet, cables, and small bag with medical device equipment. I can tell the combination of the handle cheapness and wobble wheels this wouldn't be able to get pushed through an airport upright, I would have to drag it behind me loosing the advantage of a spinner model. This will be going back.

I originally purchased a rolling duffle/suitcase from Amazon. I received it for my vacation. It was a Gothomite. It seemed awesome, but within about 100 yards of using it, it tore at the bottom because it dragged along ground from sagging. Tore hole in it. Amazon was good and refunded my money. I then bought the Samsonite Centrix 28" hard case suitcase. It arrived looking great. I just opened today to begin packing for my trip. I realized as I began to pack it that on the top lid and bottom lid there is fabric with a zipper to open it, which accesses the walls of the lids. Both zippers were missing zipper handles, so it was hard to hold the little zipper to open. Once I opened the zipper I saw this piece of odd curved rubber with adhesive on it, just stuck randomly to the inside of the lid, on both the top and bottom lid. I investigated more to try and see where the rubber was supposed to be stuck to and realized that it is supposed to be covering where the roller wheels attach to the bottom of the suitcase, on the inside. I supplied photos of the piece detached and where the other one was still glued to one of the wheels. there are 4 wheels, 2 per lid, 2 on top lid and 2 on bottom lid. On each lid, one was attached and one was not. I tried to reapply it, but it just falls off. It seems like a nice suitcase, but this is 2 times within the last 2 months I received defective suitcases when ordered from Amazon. Not sure if it is there fault or the manufacturers fault. Amazon took care of the first suitcase, I hope they help with this suitcase. I travel in 2 days, so I do not have time to return it before traveling, I hope the defects do not cause me a problem while traveling this time. Nice looking suitcase though. Check out photos for a better visual.

We purchased the three piece set and have had multiple issues with the larger 28” suitcase. First the spinning wheel mount broke and pushed into the hard shell leaving a sizable hole as well as rendering the wheel inoperable. We purchased a replacement 28” suitcase to match the set and the second time using the new suitcase the top grab handle snapped off. Overall I’d expect more durability out of a set this expensive.

I waited till I was on two business trips and it works great. I just wish they spent another two or three dollars on just a little bit bigger wheel so that I can go over cracks and grooves a lot easier. It works extremely well on tile and marble floors carpeting terms to drag it down a bit. If you put a computer case on top that adds extra weight to it it makes it of course a little harder to pull around. However it seems to be working great in the bright orange is best especially when you’re looking at a big lot of bags coming off a plane everybody is staring at the black bags but the Orange bag really stands out. I’m not making a fashion statement I just want to get out of the airport quickly and with my bag Update after my fourth trip the top handle ripped off in Sarasota Florida. Which makes it incredibly hard to use it was nice but having used it now for about 12 trips the missing handle is a nightmare it does not give them a place to grab hold of it and it’s a mess I would not buy this again I have decreased it from five stars to two stars find something else you’ll be happier down the road

I recently bought this luggage in July of 2019, and I've used precisely two times before my latest trip to Mexico for a yoga retreat. The luggage didn't hold up as I had expected, in fact the handle on the top of the suitcase came apart and the anchor portion tore away from case itself. I really like the suitcase, but because it is a large suitcase, with a broken handle, now it is very difficult for me to pick it up and place it in the trunk of my car or even lift it to place it on the scale when I go to the airport. I am feeling like I've wasted my money buying this suitcase as I can no longer pack it fully to utilize all of the interior space, and I can't pick it up with the main handle missing from the top of the suitcase. I am hoping to contact Samsonite to try and get this issue resolved, if I do I will update this review, but for now, this suitcase cannot be recommended!!!

I like everything about this case, but the most important aspect of a carry on/luggage is the ability to move. The right wheel front wheel has dented in (like a roller blade would back in the day, or car tire not rotated), and makes it hard to move around the airport. Something is not designed right, but I do typically have a heaver 2nd carry on computer bag on top. Looking to buy a travelpro elite carry one, and take this as a write off purchase.

Warning, this bag is junk. The bags foot came off on its first trip. I've flown over 3 million miles & United 1K, had several checked bags that lasted 20+years. I read many reviews and replaced it with this bag. A terrible decision. A bags foot should not be so poorly attached it just comes off after a few flights. Of the 1000s of flights I've never had a bags foot come off.

Each of my other bags completed well over 100-200 flights before suffering any damage/wear and tear. For this to happen during 1 trip ( 3 flights one way) the workman ship is terrible.

To add to the situation, Samsonite requires $20 shipping for the bag just to evaluate it OR take it to a store 100 miles away. A little difficult when I'm on the other side of the world with a damaged bag and there is no Samsonite shop! I'm second guessing all future purchase of Samsonite products.

This is an open and honest review of a poorly designed/constructed bag. If I can help others avoid a similar mistake that would be great.

We've travelled with these bags on four trips (my wife and I both got one). I really liked the maneuverability and it seemed pretty sturdy. There's a distinct flaw, though, in the carry handle (and probably the side handle too, but the top handle is used much more). When you grab the bag and pull it up with some lateral force (off to the side), one or both sides of the handle pop out. This occurred while we were coming home from a cruise and it became cumbersome getting the luggage home. I called Samsonite, they looked up the model and said they didn't have the part. I'd have to send the bag to a repair facility. I set up the RMA, went to ship the bag (I live in a major metropolitan area - why no facility here) and was told it would be $129.19 to ship it there (let alone the price for getting it back). I would have thought Samsonite would try to work with me some, but they just said their hands were tied. I found a local luggage repair business that took the handle off and replaced it with a much better design. I'm extremely disappointed in Samsonite and issue a caveat to anyone buying this luggage - the carry handles have a design flaw.

We purchased two of these $300 suitcases on July 26. On August 31, the handle on the top of one of them completely broke off. Basically making the suitcase unusable. Because of it’s large size, you need that top handle to lift this bag.

Because it broke on August 31, it’s over Amazon‘s 30 day return policy…. Amazon had me go to Samsonite’s webpage and fill out their paperwork for help on getting suitcase repaired or returned.

For nearly 2 weeks I’ve heard nothing from Samsonite. This is SUPER disappointing, especially as I am preparing for another trip tomorrow.

I would recommend going to Costco and purchasing their suitcases which are a little less money but more importantly, their customer service is way better. In the very least, if you don’t have a Costco nearby, I would go to some brick and mortar store who sells suitcases and buy from them so you can have access to live person in the event something happens.

I used this luggage only one time on a trip to Italy which lasted one week. The handle broke off when we arrived. So we had a one sided handle for the whole trip. Then on the way back the zipper broke and our items came tumbling out. This was a waste of money and to put it mildly was highly inconvenient. I will stay away from Samsonite at this time and I really think I should get a refund!

Upon reviewing numerous hard shelled suitcases, I finally landed on this one from Samsonite. I bought 2 in total - one for myself and the other for my girlfriend. For clarity, one was delivered perfectly and works well, so this review is specifically for the damaged one.

As you can see in the photos, the seams along the top of the suitcase are ripping, and this is how it originally came to me. Unfortunately, I did not notice this until preparing for my first trip with the suitcase (which is when I took the photos). By the time I got home from my travels and had time to figure out the return process, I was outside of my return window from Amazon. I had to drive the suitcase to a Samsonite store, where they said they would either repair or replace the suitcase. Being that it was originally shipped to me damaged and I had absolutely nothing to do with it ripping, I requested that they please replace it. They gave me no specific answer and sort of blew me off in asking that.

Well, they shipped it back to me today, and it's the same one. You can see their "attempt" to fix the seams in 2 of the photos, which looks like they just took some hot glue to hold it together. Had I known they were going to do that, I would have just done it myself! Not only is this a really poor experience, but I'm not even sure how long their "fix" is going to hold up if the luggage is thrown around in the airport.

For being a reputable company in this department, I'm very disappointed in their quality and their lack of professionalism. Had they apologized for the original flaw and replaced it, I would have gladly shared that story and recommended them as a company that cares about their customers and the overall service they provide. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will not be recommending their products anymore, and I will be sharing my negative experience with others.

1. I ordered silver and was sent slate blue. It's not a bad color, but it's not what I wanted - I spent time deciding on the color and I'm not happy.
2. Once suitcase is opened and laid out, there Is the standard elastic bands w/buckle to hold things in place on one side. The other side has a very FLIMSY MESH PANEL that zips up to separate things on that half. Why is it mesh instead of a sturdier fabric panel like the other Samonsonite suitcase I have??? Why would you lessen the quality and durability for the difference between fabric and this garbage mesh panel? The suitcase isn't inexpensive and it was only affordable on sale. But now that I'm not sure how well it will hold up, I'm not sure even the sale price was worth it.
3. QUALITY CONTROL: it seems like the overall quality of Samsonite products might be taking a dive to a much lower level. The hard case on this one doesn't feel nearly as sturdy as the smaller Samsonite spinner that I've had for a few years now and love. This new one doesn't seem as thick or as solid. I specifically ordered this brand because they use durable materials and don't dilute their polycarbonate with abs to cut costs. But this one is making me nervous about putting it through the rigors of checked baggage travel. This is just one more example of why having to buy everything online is really not so great for the consumer. Less and less a fan of amazon and the poor quality of products these days. Will be so happy when we can get back to normal shopping in real stores again.

The suitcase is very lightweight. I returned another to buy this one relying on the brand name. That was a huge mistake. This is an absolute failure of quality control.

The hardshell case cracked on the second trip I took with it. I have had it sealed up with duct tape ever since. We are on our third trip now and just rolling it around, the wheel completely failed and it is now basically not maneuverable at all.

I am really sad about the decline in quality from Samsonite. It used to be a very reliable brand for travel. We are not road warriors. I have taken it on a trip to Switzerland and Portugal, a short trip to Ireland, and to the Spanish Basque Country. That’s it. Look elsewhere for quality luggage if you intend to take a train, car, plane, or bus.

I bought the first series and loved them. I travel a ton and the old ones were looking pretty rough due to stickers airlines and hotel use (with superglue?). These have a surface that is easier to get stickers off of and I like the color, so I upgraded, or so I thought First trip, used the largest suitcase, loaded with only 35 lbs, and the material ripped by the upper handle! It is SUPER thin. Looks like someone picked it up quickly and it just split. It was the last day of exchange, so I exchanged for the same ones as I thought maybe it was a fluke and I really liked the way they looked. First time I checked the middle size, again not very heavy, the top handle popped out of the track they are in. No idea how, there was no indication of a break. Was going to return, but instead, got a screwdriver and jammed it back in so i did not have to deal with warranty. Really hard to do, and almost gave up, but got it done with a few scratches.

*Update* - 3rd break in 3 months. This time, the handle on the large luggage just snapped off at the bolts that secure it to the luggage. This set is awful, and seems like it is disposable after a trip or two. Not what I was looking for at about $300.

Yes, this luggage set is durable but, absolutely horrible to maneuver.
The wheels on this luggage are stiff and cannot handle a heavy load on hard flooring. You can forget about wheeling them over carper. Expect to have to pull with your weight or push the luggage, as if you are pushing a boulder. Expect to possibly fall forward with the medium sized luggage piece of the three. The ony way to maneuver that piece is to pull the damn thing. I do not recommend this luggage set at all.
